Mechanism of Colon Perforation - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit depicts the progress of a scope, within the large intestine, during a colonoscopy. In the first image the scope makes successful progress through the descending colon toward the transverse colon. The second image shows the scope encountering thick liquid stool which stops the progression of the scope. The third image shows the lack of forward progression causing a kink in the scope resulting in a perforation of the colon.
