Infection of Right Eye with Development of Endophthalmitis - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit features three large sagittal (side cut-away) views of the eye and surrounding orbit. These images allow us to clearly illustrate the following conditions: Initial infection with a symbolic arrow pointing inward toward the eye with multiple small green dots, representing the mold, blowing into the eye and accumulating on the surface of the eye; Initial infection with redness and irriation of the conjunctiva and sclera; Subsequent condition with spread of the infection and irritation from the surface into the interior chambers of the eye and within the orbit resulting in ptosis and swelling of the eyelids. The actual image of the infected eye is included.
