Urinary Incontinence with Suprapubic Catheter Placement - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit begins with one sagittal (side cut-away) of the female pelvis revealing the bladder and urethra. This image illustrates the pre-operative condition. The bladder is shown full of urine with a flow of urine down through the urethra to represent the incontinence. Next, a combination of anterior and sagittal views illustrates the surgical placement of the suprapubic catheter. These images show the incision in the skin and soft tissues above the pubic bone, the incision into the anterior dome of the bladder and the placement of the catheter into the bladder.\r\n
